2005 is the year of the Aichi Expo (Expo 2005 Aichi, Japan) which has been in the pipeline for a while. Work, plans, other countries announcing they’re participating have been going on for over 4 years. Looking at the site/grounds (from the expo home page) it’d be wrong to say that a lot of work hasn’t been done. Far from it – a lot has been done.
There doesn’t seem to be much in the way of “advertising” for it. Sure there are one of two posters around the place and pictures of Morizo and Kiccoro, the expo mascots on labels of various food items. But that’s really it.
Other than that you wouldn’t really know it was happening.
